Meet the Team


Madison Leung (Maddie)
Co-Director & Practice Manager

Originally from Hong Kong, Maddie moved to Canberra in 2018 to pursue her university studies at the Australian National University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Design. After graduation, she began working as the Speech Therapy Coordinator at a local hearing and speech clinic. — an experience that sparked her interest in business systems and administrative structures that support healthcare services.

Over the past few years, Maddie has grown into a leadership role, drawing on her deep understanding of clinic operations and client care. She values her commitment to the team and finds purpose in playing a quiet but meaningful role in the way the practice serves its community.

Maddie speaks fluent English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga and pilates, and values continuous learning and personal growth.


Cassandra Perry (Cass)
Co-director & Speech Pathologist

Cassandra Perry (Cass) is a dedicated speech pathologist and co-owner of Brindabella Speech Therapy. She holds an undergraduate degree in Health Science and a Master’s in Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra.

Cassandra is a Mum to three girls and brings both personal and professional passion to her work. She has a special interest in literacy development and dyslexia, particularly within the neurodivergent population. Her approach is strengths-based, inclusive, and grounded in supporting each individual’s unique communication needs.

Cassandra is committed to creating a supportive, client-led, and empowering environment for the children and families she works with, helping them to build confidence and reach their full potential.


Lori Drennan
Team Leader – Senior Speech Pathologist

Lori Drennan is a dedicated speech pathologist and Team Leader at Brindabella Speech Therapy. She holds a Master’s in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Washington State University and moved from the United States to Canberra in 2015. After more than a decade here, she proudly calls Canberra home.

Lori is a mum to two beloved greyhounds, enjoys spending time with her husband, and loves being in nature. She brings a calm, thoughtful presence to her work and specialises in supporting adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, with particular interest in neurological conditions and stuttering.

With a compassionate and evidence-based approach, Lori is committed to empowering individuals to communicate confidently and maintain their quality of life. She values collaboration and works closely with clients, families, and healthcare teams to provide person-centred, functional care that makes a meaningful difference.


Rebecca De Costa
Assistant Team Leader – Senior Speech Pathologist

Rebecca is an experienced speech pathologist and Assistant Team Leader at Brindabella Speech Therapy, holding a Bachelor of Health Science(Speech Pathology) from Charles Sturt University. With over a decade of clinical experience since 2014, she has worked with clients across the lifespan, from young children developing early communication skills to adults recovering from brain injury or managing progressive neurological conditions.

Rebecca enjoys working with a mixed caseload and is passionate about helping individuals achieve their communication goals in ways that are meaningful to their daily lives. Her areas of interest include speech sound disorders, receptive and expressive language skills, voice and swallowing conditions, literacy skills, and adult communication rehabilitation. She takes an evidence-based, person centred approach, always tailoring therapy to each client’s needs and working closely with families and support networks.

Outside of the clinic, Rebecca enjoys reading and paddling with her dragon boating team, appreciating both the camaraderie and challenge of the sport as well as the creativity and calm that come with a good book.


Ysabell Uy
Speech Pathologist

Ysabell Uy is a passionate speech pathologist at Brindabella Speech Therapy, holding a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra. Originally from the Philippines, she made the big move to Australia to pursue her passion for supporting children’s communication development and confidence.

Ysabell enjoys working with paediatric clients and finds great joy in witnessing children reach milestones and helping families celebrate every success. She has a special interest in early language development and supporting minimally speaking autistic children. She takes a collaborative, play-based approach to therapy, believing that learning is most effective when it’s engaging and tailored to each child’s unique style. Fluent in both Filipino and English, Ysabell is able to connect with a diverse range of families and appreciates the richness of bilingual communication.

Outside of work, Ysabell is a proud dog mum and a homebody who enjoys playing piano, painting, and taking her dog for walks. She finds joy in creativity and calm, both in and out of the clinic.


Evie Guo
Speech Pathologist

Evie Guo is a qualified speech pathologist at Brindabella Speech Therapy, holding a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra. She works with both children and adults, supporting them in strengthening their communication in ways that enhance and enrich their everyday lives.

Evie takes a collaborative, evidence-based approach, tailoring her methods to each client's unique interests and needs to ensure sessions are both meaningful and engaging. She prioritises creating a calm, supportive environment where clients feel empowered and motivated to achieve their goals. Originally from China, Evie is fluent in Mandarin and English and is passionate about working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Outside of her professional role, Evie enjoys painting, playing the drums, and exploring new experiences - from equestrianism to strategy-based tabletop games. She brings this same curiosity and commitment to her professional practice, continually seeking to expand her skills to provide effective and person-centred care.


Kerry Li
Speech Pathologist

Kerry is a dedicated speech pathologist at Brindabella Speech Therapy, holding a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra. Originally from Hong Kong, she is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and is passionate about supporting clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Kerry values building meaningful connections with families and individuals to provide personalised, client-focused care.

Kerry enjoys working with both children and adults and is committed to creating engaging therapy sessions where each individual feels empowered and confident. She believes therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each client’s goals and interests, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.

Outside of work, Kerry enjoys playing board games, discovering great cafes and restaurants, travelling, and baking. She loves adventure and trying new things and is an open-water scuba diver. Kerry brings the same curiosity and enthusiasm into her clinic sessions, helping clients explore what works best for them and achieve meaningful progress.


Phoebe Wallner
Speech Pathologist

Phoebe is a Canberra-raised speech pathologist who is passionate about supporting people of all ages to communicate, connect and participate in the things that matter most to them. She completed a Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Canberra, graduating in 2025, and holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Linguistics and French from the Australian National University.

Phoebe has a broad range of interests across both paediatric and adult practice. She brings a flexible and creative approach to therapy and will readily embrace personal interests and adjust therapy to suit each person’s needs, energy and interests. She values working closely with clients, families and other professionals toward meaningful, practical goals. Phoebe aims to build warm, collaborative relationships and believes therapy works best when it feels safe, engaging and is relevant to real life.

Before retraining as a speech pathologist, Phoebe worked in the public service. Becoming a parent led her to change direction and move into a role where she could more directly help others and work with people and families. Her family at home includes two small children, Nina and Toby, and a very large Golden Retriever, Hector. She is always ready to talk Bluey and Hot Wheels, but also enjoys more grown-up interests such as books, podcasts, poetry, crime and police dramas, swimming (including training for upcoming ocean swims), and having a chat at her regular social fitness classes. On weekends you’ll often find her taking Hector to the lake for a dip, cooking Charmaine Solomon recipes, or escaping to the NSW South Coast and exploring new spots with her family in their camper trailer.


Jess Blin
Speech Pathologist

Jess is a qualified Speech Pathologist with a strong background in education. She holds a Master of English Studies from the University of Aix-Marseille, a PGCE from the University of Lancaster, and a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra. Originally from France, Jess grew up in a bilingual family and has lived in Canada, the UK, Egypt, and Japan—experiences that have shaped her understanding of how culture and language influence communication. She relocated to Australia in 2009.

After more than 20 years teaching in primary schools, Jess brings a deep understanding of literacy, language development, and learning differences. She enjoys working across the lifespan, supporting children and adults through client-centred, meaningful therapy. Jess has a particular interest in early childhood speech and language development using play-based therapy, multilingualism, as well as a growing interest in supporting adults with communication difficulties following a brain injury.

In her downtime, Jess enjoys travelling, getting lost in a good book, and spending time with her two boys, her husband, and the family’s much-loved pets.


Neha Chalke
Administration

Neha moved to Canberra in 2019 from Mumbai, India, to pursue further education, and graduated from the University of Canberra with a master's degree in Cyber Security.

She has over six years of managerial and customer service expertise. In addition to working, she developed an interest in management and chose to pursue a diploma in hospitality management in order to advance in her career.

The idea of giving back to the community sparked an interest in working in a speech clinic, and fortunately, this opportunity presented itself. She is originally from India so she is fluent in Hindi, Marathi and English.

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking for her loved ones, watching cricket, playing badminton and basketball.


Kristina Little
Administration

Kristina has supported our team since 2022 and is an integral part of the clinic’s administrative services. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently completing her Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Canberra.

Growing up in Canberra, Kristina has always been passionate about supporting her community. Her time working in the clinic has further strengthened her desire to become a speech pathologist, and she is committed to building a career focused on helping individuals and families achieve meaningful communication outcomes.

Outside of work, Kristina loves staying active and spending time outdoors. She plays soccer, enjoys long walks, and is a regular at the gym.
